Children who experience educational gaps often fall through the cracks and are likely to:
- Start kindergarten below grade level and never catch up
- Drop-out of high school
- Face chronic poverty
- Encounter homelessness or incarceration
It doesn’t have to be that way.
Preventing serious, lifelong, systemic issues can be challenging.
Early education is essential to prevent systemic issues that arise from educational gaps. Despite great early education programs already offered in our state, the need is greater than what’s available.
That is why Impact.Change.Hawaii’s initial program, Building Blocks Hawaii, was created. We partner with schools, businesses, and communities to provide children with the foundational education where they don’t have access.

ICH’s Initial Program: Building Blocks Hawaii
Early Education
Introduces children to critical thinking, creativity, social-emotional learning, and Hawaiian culture.
Literacy
Empowers children to meet kindergarten-level expectations with literacy skills that will determine their level of thrivability.
Parent Support
Guide parents as their child’s “first teacher” by providing educational tips, resources, and parent empowerment sessions.
The Need Is Great
More than 75% of our families are low-income and cannot afford Hawaii’s rising preschool cost.
They remain on waitlists for other free pre-k programs before being referred to our FREE program.
